Trump Suffers Unintentionally Funny Meltdown
If Donald Trump’s team had more control over their boss, they might have wanted to keep him occupied during the Democratic National Convention.
Keeping the former president’s attention away from the TV could have reduced the chances of him having outbursts.
But if that was the plan, it didn’t pan out as intended.
Before the final night of the DNC began, the former president announced that he would be offering online rebuttals to the convention through his social media platform. He attempted to do just that, kicking off with an odd “WHERE’S HUNTER?” post, as if he momentarily forgot that targeting President Joe Biden’s son is no longer relevant.
As reported by The New York Times, this online tirade, which consisted of around 50 posts, didn’t quite hit the mark. This led the GOP candidate to take a different approach—he made a phone call.
Former President Donald J. Trump was watching television on Thursday night, and he didn’t like what he saw.
His newly minted Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, had just criticized him for groveling to dictators, endangering democracy, betraying American values, and to top it off, called him “an unserious man.” So, Mr. Trump picked up the phone and called Fox News.
It’s understandable why the network hurried to get the Republican candidate on air, even if only by phone. Trump is, after all, the GOP nominee, and it made sense that he’d want to respond to his Democratic rival’s remarks.
What Fox may not have anticipated, however, is that Harris’ convention speech appeared to have triggered an emotional breakdown.
Donald Trump made an appearance on Fox News for about 10 minutes, during which he not only delivered a disjointed tirade but also fumbled with his phone, accidentally pressing random buttons.
The so-called “interview” might have lasted longer, but Fox anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum eventually cut Trump off mid-rant to shift the program back to other scheduled content.
While it was amusing to watch Fox News essentially signal to Trump that they had heard enough of his unrestrained complaints, the situation took an even more humorous turn when, after hanging up with Fox, Trump promptly called Newsmax to continue his outburst.
In a typical political party, such a meltdown might be seen as disqualifying. However, within today’s Republican Party, it was just another ordinary Thursday night.
