There Is ZERO Chance For Donald Trump To Dodge JAIL: Ex Lawyer Says:
Donald Trump’s former lawyer has stated there is “zero” chance that Trump will be acquitted and avoid jail time in his hush money trial. Jury deliberations are set to begin today, following the judge’s instructions on the relevant laws and guidelines for evaluating Trump’s guilt or innocence.
These deliberations come after Tuesday’s closing arguments, which extended into the evening. Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass accused Trump of deliberately misleading voters through a “catch-and-kill” scheme to suppress damaging stories that could have derailed his 2016 presidential campaign.
In contrast, the defense questioned the credibility of star witness Michael Cohen. Trump’s lawyer, Todd Blanche, called Cohen “the greatest liar of all time” and urged jurors to swiftly acquit Trump. Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, each carrying a potential prison sentence of up to four years. He has denied all charges and pleaded not guilty.
Former White House lawyer Ty Cobb, who represented Trump during the Mueller investigation, told The Daily Beast that the chance of an acquittal is “zero to none,” although he believes a hung jury is possible but unlikely. Cobb also mentioned that it is uncertain if Blanche will continue to represent Trump.
Last year, Cobb criticized Trump’s defense in the federal case concerning mishandling classified documents, but Trump dismissed Cobb’s comments on his platform, Truth Social. Trump wrote, “Ty Cobb is a disgruntled former Lawyer, who represented me long ago and knows absolutely nothing about the Boxes Hoax being perpetrated upon me. His words are angry, nasty, and libelous, only because I did not continue using him (and paying him), and for good reason.”
In an interview with The Mirror, Gregory Germain, a law professor at Syracuse University, predicted the trial’s outcome. He believes the district attorney and judge are determined to secure a conviction. He said, “I think the judge will gloss over the legal issues in the jury instructions to allow a conviction by focusing on the propriety rather than the legality of paying hush money.”
Germain doubts there are any Trump supporters on the jury and thinks they are likely offended by Trump’s conduct. Despite acknowledging the case’s flaws, Germain predicts the jury will convict Trump. However, he believes Trump is unlikely to go to jail. He explained, “Sentencing Trump to jail for a first-time non-violent Class E felony would be outrageous, cause a constitutional crisis, and show the judge’s bias. I think the judge will sentence him to probation.”
Germain also predicted that the case would not end there. He added, “Ultimately, I think the verdict will be reversed on appeal. If the judge sentences Trump to prison, the courts will intervene quickly. If he isn’t sentenced to prison, the appeal process will take longer but will likely result in a reversal after the election.”

I write this obviously after the jury is in. And no, I don’t believe Germain when he indicates that they jury’s decision may have been influenced by trump’s behavior. I believe they went with all jury’s instructions – to go by the facts and evidence (same thing). I do not believe they were influenced by trump’s behavior in any decision making.
German said “I think the judge will gloss over the legal issues in the jury instructions to allow a conviction by focusing on the propriety rather than the legality of paying hush money.” No, the judge did not “gloss over” the legal issues. That may be him projecting what he would do. I don’t know. His opinion doesn’t swim with me at all.
Probation only to me would be a travesty. I do not believe trump would have won the election if he had not committed these felonies (and I understand that paying hush money in itself is not illegal). trump lied his way to the presidency and now he’s been convicted of basically lying over and over and over.
For me, probation would be no punishment at all and have no deterrent value to anyone else being charged for similar crimes. To me, German’s thinking is fuzzy. The judge, prosecutor and anyone else allowed into the penalty decision making process will take into account all factors, one of which is that trump will never, never, never admit the truth or be contrite. trump absolutely should get prison time without access to social media if possible.
The judge is known for being fair and as one commentator said “trump was treated unfairly in that he received preferential treatment over and over.” It’s time for that to stop.

There is no justification for giving Trump leeway on any element of this trial’s verdict! He attempted to pervert the course of a legitimate election. That has to be the overriding factor!
Winning or losing the election isn’t the issue. The ONLY issue is: what was Trump’s MOTIVE for doing what he did! And it’s as clear as a bell what Trump tried, on this specific occasion, to achieve: the Presidency of The United States of America! ILLEGALLY!
Being backed by a rabid bunch of rednecks intent on destroying anything standing in their idol’s way indicates a repeat of the very processes that enabled Adolf Hitler to exert power over the whole of Germany – prior to causing World War II! One doesn’t need to be an Einstein to read between the lines of Trump’s regular outbursts, where dictatorship; perverting the judicial system; revenge, violence; armed gangs, and sweeping social changes, which are the dominating features of his utterances, are the blueprint of his plans for a future America under the control of one Donald J Trump.
His process went beyond acceptable standards of electioneering, and with the assistance of right-wing media and a microphone set on “Loud”, Trump proceeded to abuse the Constitutional system for his own personal benefit. This is NOT a “sweep it all under the carpet” moment – as Trump desires! This is the EXACT time America needs to stand up and demonstrate that its 250-year-old Constitution is there to protect its citizens – not serve as a tool for one loudmouthed jackanape to claw his way to the top, using whatever weapons are at his disposal, to allow him to exert dominance over the entire country.
America has only one vote left to correct this situation and avoid catastrophe. If it doesn’t take this chance it can wave goodbye to democracy and all that goes with it. It will have been jackbooted into history!
