RFK Jr Pushes For CIA Spy Daughter-in-law To Join Trump Administration

Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, the daughter-in-law of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his former campaign manager, is reportedly looking to secure a position in the next Trump administration as the deputy director of the CIA.

According to a recent report by Axios, RFK Jr. has been actively making calls to support his daughter-in-law’s potential nomination. One notable detail is that the role of deputy director does not require Senate confirmation, which could make the process smoother for her appointment.

President-elect Donald Trump has officially nominated John Ratcliffe, a former U.S. House representative from Texas and his first-term director of national intelligence, to assume the role of CIA director.

The deputy director position at the CIA is among the top intelligence roles Trump has yet to fill. According to a report from Politico last month, individuals like Kash Patel, Trump’s choice for FBI director, and Cliff Sims, a former administration official, were both vying for this role.

Meanwhile, Fox Kennedy’s memoir Life Undercover: Coming of Age in the CIA—published in 2019—shed light on her nearly decade-long experience at the agency.

Her book remains one of the most comprehensive accounts of life within the CIA. Kennedy shared that she was recruited in her early 20s and was one of the youngest female officers at the agency.

Kennedy also revealed that she operated as a “nonofficial cover,” meaning she worked under a false identity with no diplomatic protections, functioning as a civilian with covert responsibilities.

Fox Kennedy has reportedly sent his memoir to the publisher without first obtaining approval from the CIA Publication Review Board, a move that has caused considerable attention and debate within the agency.

The CIA’s Publication Review Board typically reviews and clears material from former intelligence officers before publication to ensure that classified information remains protected, as noted by journalist Yashar Ali at the time.

Kennedy, who took on the role of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign manager in October of the previous year while he sought to secure his position on the ballot as an independent candidate across all states, eventually ended his campaign in August. Following this, Kennedy endorsed former President Donald Trump.

Last month, Trump nominated Kennedy to the role of Secretary of Health and Human Services, should he become President-elect.
