Rep. Jasmine Hits Trump Where It Hurts
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Tex.) made a bold prediction on Monday, stating that she doesn’t expect Donald Trump to participate in the upcoming September 10 debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
“But if he does decide to show up, he’s in for a serious reckoning,” she remarked during an appearance on MSNBC. “Honestly, I’m ready for whatever happens: he can either hide away, or he can face the heat and get burned. Either way, I’m fine with it.”
Crockett, an emerging figure in the Democratic Party, captured widespread attention last week with a powerful speech at the party’s convention in Chicago, where she sharply contrasted Trump and Harris.
“America, when you look at the choices before you, who would you hire: Donald Trump or Kamala Harris?” she challenged the audience. “Kamala Harris has a resume.
Donald Trump has a rap sheet. She leads the Senate, while he stashes our national secrets by his favorite chair.”
Her comment referenced the classified documents discovered at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, including some that were infamously stored near a toilet.
Initially, Trump had agreed to participate in two debates against President Joe Biden. However, with Harris now leading the ticket, Trump has hinted that he might skip the next one.
