Biden Labels Trump “Convicted FELON”:
During a fundraiser in Greenwich, Connecticut, President Joe Biden made headlines by referring to Donald Trump as a “convicted felon,” accusing the former president of seeking a return to office to “preserve his freedoms.”
This marks the first instance where Biden publicly called Trump a convicted felon since Trump was found guilty on 34 counts related to a hush-money scheme involving Stormy Daniels.
Speaking to supporters at the home of former HBO CEO Richard Plepler, Biden highlighted, “For the first time in American history, a former president that is a convicted felon is now seeking the office of the presidency.”
Biden criticized Trump’s response to the verdict, characterizing him as “clearly unhinged” and expressing concern that “after his criminal convictions, it’s clear he’s worried about preserving his freedoms.
” He further warned of the risks posed by Trump’s rhetoric, stating, “Nothing could be more dangerous for the country, more dangerous for American democracy,” according to Reuters.
These comments come as Trump continues to portray himself as a political martyr, claiming the verdict is politically motivated and suggesting similar fates could befall his supporters.
Despite his conviction, Trump has maintained that the case is a “witch hunt” and has used it to raise millions in campaign funds.
In response, Trump’s campaign advisors thanked their supporters, saying, “The American people saw right through Crooked Joe Biden’s rigged trial, and sent Biden and Democrats a powerful message.” Meanwhile, Biden has remained silent on the ongoing federal gun case involving his son.
