Drake’s Toronto Mansion Floods Amid Massive Canadian Rainstorms- A BIG ONE

Drake’s Toronto Mansion Floods

Drake’s Toronto mansion was inundated during a massive storm that swept through the city, leaving his luxurious estate awash in murky water.

On Tuesday (July 16), the Canadian rap icon shared a video on social media showing the flood damage to his home, known as “The Embassy.” In the caption, the 37-year-old wrote, “This better be espresso martini,” indicating he was handling the situation with a touch of humor despite the severity of the event.

Reports indicate that this storm brought one of the heaviest rainfalls Toronto has experienced in over a century, with 98 mm of rain falling on Tuesday alone. Typically, Toronto averages around 75 mm of rain for the entire summer season, making this one of the top five rainiest days in the city’s history since 1938.

Meteorologist Dave Phillips told local news station CP24, “We had 25 percent more rain in three hours than we’d normally have in the whole month of July with all the thunderstorms and systems that moved through.”

Drake was not alone in facing the storm’s impact. Various transportation hubs were shut down, including the DVP lanes and Union Station. According to Toronto Hydro, over 167,000 customers lost power, and numerous flights were either significantly delayed or canceled altogether.

Drake took the stage at his “Till Death Do Us Part” rap battle on October 30, 2021, in Long Beach, California. Known as one of Hip-Hop’s summer kings, Drake hasn’t had the best season so far, facing a string of setbacks. His recent defeat to Kendrick Lamar in their rap diss battle added to his troubles.

To make matters worse, Kendrick’s music video for his hit “Not Like Us” has reignited the song’s popularity, propelling it back to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and positioning it as a strong contender for the song of the summer—an accolade Drake usually enjoys.

As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours, and right now, Drake is definitely feeling the downpour.
